The Never Never Kombu Farm has approximately 8 acres worth of Camphor Laurel trees growing wild on it.
Native to Japan, Taiwan and some parts of China, the Camphor Laurel (Cinnamomum camphora) is an evergreen tree that was introduced to Australia in about 1822 as an ornamental species. These trees aggressively replace the native vegetation and invade the banks of our waterways, and are now considered a noxious weed in many parts of the state including our region, as they pose a threat to native plants and wildlife.
We are currently in the process of cutting them down and milling them into timber. We have already made some nice rustic furniture for our own personal use, as well as assisting in the production of some pieces for an Australian design company.
We also have some of this timber available for sale, with plenty more being processed.
Please contact us if you are interested in placing an order or purchasing timber.
